Workshops

Trauma is the lasting emotional response that often results from living through a distressing event. Experiencing a traumatic event can harm a person’s sense of safety, sense of self, and ability to regulate emotions and navigate relationships. Long after the traumatic event occurs, people with trauma can often feel shame, helplessness, powerlessness and intense fear.

  • Centre for Addiction and Mental Health

The objective of this workshop is to gain an understanding of the methodology of Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga, inclusive of the theoretical underpinnings of Trauma theory, Attachment theory and Neuroscience, and how it can be applied as an adjunct treatment for complex trauma or chronic treatment resistant PTSD.

This is a half-day workshop and is suited, but not limited to, trauma therapists, clinicians, yoga instructors/teacher training modules, mental health workers, health networks and for the education of communities.

The workshop will be a lecture format and can be adapted to accommodate diverse spaces and needs. Time will be allocated for TCTSY practice and question/answer inquiry.
